Downton Chimera India Pale Ale

Bottle conditioned, 500ml. Gold with white head. Initially a little underwhelming, a light slightly citric, lemony, but thin beer. Though on searching there were dryish hops on a sweet malty body, not an IPA to my taste, but a reasonable hoppy beer with a late alcohol kick.

Cask at Bree Louise, London. Deep golden pour with no head whatsoever. Hoppy aroma. Tastes quite hoppy, malty, over ripe apples, bitter, sweet. Solid brew. Quite interesting.

(bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a short yellowish foamy layer. Slightly yeasty and juicy lemon-fruity hoppy aroma with a tinge of nutty and toasty malt. Bitter flavour with a light sugary touch, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Solid (cara-)malty base with notes of cookies and a moderately flowery and fruity hop presence; quite dry and bitter but nevertheless rounded malty finish with a good dash of aromatic hops. 30.VIII.09

Bottle - Deep lightly hazy golden body with a beautiful white fluffy big bubbled head; Very nice nose with lots of aroma, light colored malt, almost pilsner malt aromas, with very fine citrus hop aromas behind, light and crisp; Big upfront body with a strange mix of full sweetness from the alcohol and a very crisp dry part from what seems like a huge amount of hops, very interesting and definitely very new experience to me; Long finish that become even more dry, again mixed with a full alcohol part that also brings sweetness, there is a harsh part to this beer that I have not experienced before maybe from the huge amount of UK hops being used. Very interesting beer, that I think would have been even better with a little lower alcohol content. Thanks Fin!!!

Bottle@ProeflokaalDelft. Not much aroma, light malty, hint of citrus. Hazy, pale yellow colour, off-white head, fair lace. Malty, sweet, ok bitterness. Light dry mouthfeel. Pretty OK beer, nothing special.

Bottle, sampled @ Proeflokaal Delft. Orange blonde color. Just a touch of oily hops and tangerine in the aroma. Flowery, oily flavor with tangerine. Soft silky oily hopbitter finish.

Bottle. A little hazy golden colored beer, with a small off-white head. The aroma of malts, fruits like citrus and orange. After that some hops. The taste is dry with hop bitter. It has flowers and fruits like grapes, with apples. There are also some spices. The aftertaste is bitter in a pleasant way.
