imdownthepub (4250), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 11, 2008 Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Brown with slight white head. Quite an earthy, malty bitter with a fungal, yeasty note. This is overlaid with a perfumed hop that adds a little character. It’s a solid, average type bitter.
TimE (1066), Tokyo, Japan Oct 27, 2008 Wenlock Arms - Dark copper color. Nose is very light and gives just hints of cognac and toffee, which is a fascade for what is in the mouth. Milk chocolate, brandy, toffee, oranges just dance together. Incredibly smooth. Finish just lingers with toffee notes. Very enjoyable. Hop bitterness also manages to sneak in there.
