Cask. Deep brown/rubyish red colour with small beigeish brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some mild notes of wood and smoke. Flavour is quite much the same, balanced up with some flowery hops.

Clear dark red brown color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, coffee. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Very easy to drink. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (020508)

Black color; creamy head. It has some roasted malt aroma, and yeasty dough in the beginning, some hop later. It has a reasonably smooth mouthfeel; the flavor is quite balanced in the front, but quickly gets dominated too much by the roasted malt, that is not extreme, but still too aggressive for my liking. The final has also too much roasted bitterness, and a sourish touch from it. Correctly brewed, but not in my target.

Jun 3, 2008 Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Black with dark brown edges. Rather a lovely choccy aorma. OK, definitely a choccy porter. Rather good.

May 16, 2008 [cask at Reading beer festival] Deep, rich, sweet fruitiness, red wine, some sharpness comes through, with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Pretty darn good!
