Jun 8, 2008 on tap-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is mild sweet medium malt. Taste is sweet medium malt, some nut brown character, secondary biting hops, tea leaf, yeasty. Medium body.

Sep 5, 2005 Draft sampler at DGB. Dark amber color with moderate off-white head that diminished slowly. Moderate hoppy aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Moderate malty flavor with medium finish.

Aug 29, 2007 Tasted on tap at brewery. This alt pours a medium to dark amber color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is roasty malt, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied alt. Malts are caramel, bready and sweet with a touch of smoke. Hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Touch of hop bitterness behind the mellow malts. Crisp dry finish. This beer went well with my Ahi Tuna Steak. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Jun 11, 2005 Tap. Malt and yeast aromas. Pours dark brown with a very small head. Flavors of caramel malt and yeast. Medium bodied palate.

Oct 3, 2003 Smoke and cereal in the aroma, nice reddish copper appearamce. lighter bodied than I expected, withat na earthy, crisp, and pronounced hop finish. Not what I was expecting when I ordered an "Alt", but an enjoyeable beer, nonetheless.

Oct 3, 2003 Amber colour with a thin white head. Light aroma of english hops with a decent balance of malt. Medium to Light-bodied; The taste shows a bit of sweetness with some english hops and a balance of malt. Aftertaste shows some decent malt characteristics, but fairly subtle. Overall a decent beer, not an true 'alt' though! I had this on draught at the brewpub in Knoxville, Tennessee on 27-September-2003.

Jun 27, 2007 This amber beer doesn’t have a lot of character. there are no off-flavors or aroma, but there isn’t much in the way of on flavors either. Just kind of bland.
