Commercial Description:
An early German ale, this full-bodied Düsseldorf style exhibits a rich mahogany color. Special malts imported from Munich lend an authentic malty note to this exceptional brew.

Had this as part of the Downtown Grill & Brewery sampler. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I really liked the flavor.

nice bold bitters w/out any lingering hop flavors, big malty toffee toast flavor, biscuity, mild roasts, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, dry finish and clean too, very drinkable, could have been happy drinking this all night

Smoke and cereal in the aroma, nice reddish copper appearamce. lighter bodied than I expected, withat na earthy, crisp, and pronounced hop finish. Not what I was expecting when I ordered an "Alt", but an enjoyeable beer, nonetheless.

Tasted on tap at brewery. This alt pours a medium to dark amber color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is roasty malt, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied alt. Malts are caramel, bready and sweet with a touch of smoke. Hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Touch of hop bitterness behind the mellow malts. Crisp dry finish. This beer went well with my Ahi Tuna Steak. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

From growler... pours amber, with little head. Aroma is a smoky malt aroma. This definitely has more flavoring hops that I expected. It pairs with the malt well. There are smoky flavors, but a lot of the bready flavors that I usually associate with an alt. Carbonation seems to be dead on with it.

Pours a clear copper with an average sized, eggshell white head. Mild malt and hop aroma. The flavor is ever so slightly sweet with a soft, yet firm hop bitterness. The hops in this one provide much more bitterness than aroma or flavor with the bitterness lasting through the long, dry finish. I don’t know much about Alts as a style, but this easily fit the description of a German made equivalent of an English Ale. This keg was provided to the Brew Crew at a recent beer festival and I got to try one that I wouldn’t normally spend much time on. Not a bad beer.

Growler. Poured a clear brown color with a medium off-white head. Very slight lacing. Aroma has some caramel and roasted malt to it. Flavor is pretty nutty and also has a bit of smokiness to it. Malty and bitter finish. It’s a decent altbier

PLeasent enough. not quite what I expected, but I could not finish the pint, though I doubt it was the fault of the actual beer. Just not pleasing.
