Jan 20, 2009 Stopped in after the Xmas Eve^3 at tronraner’s. Clear dark brown pour with reddish chestnut highlights and wispy tan head. Roasty nose with a hint of coffee. Grainy coffee flavor and toasted with some form of hop bitterness in the finish. Nothing special.

Jan 19, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark black color with a thin tan head. The aroma was chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor was coffee, and roasted malt, with a bit of a bitter finish. This was just an average porter. The body was a little thin, but the flavor was ok.

Nov 17, 2008 Dark black all the way to the edges, two fingers of light tan head and nice wispy lacing. Very chocolatey aroma, hints of roasted malt. Taste is earthy, roasted coffee and a finish of sweet then bitter roasted malts.

Jun 8, 2008 on tap-pours a retaining thin light brown head that laces and black color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt-cocoa/molasses. Taste is dark malt-cocoa/molasses/some coffee, secondary dry earthy hops. OK carbonation. Right on target for style, just not my taste.

Mar 21, 2008 Not a bad porter. Their best beer at the Downtown Grill. Smells of maple, coffee, and dark chocolate. It has hops in the finish. The finish lingers about for a while with hop bitterness. Lots of lace hang around the glass.
