Commercial Description:
A deep ruby red, a rich malt flavor and a creamy head hopped just enough to compliment the bittersweet chocolate note.

Had this with the Downtown Grill & Brewery sampler. It was very enjoyable. Had a good flavor and wasn’t overpowering.

Draft. Nearly opaque brown-black with ruby tints, and a medium-sized lasting head. Pleasant chocolate and woody-caramel aroma. Initial flavors of chocolate-caramel, marshmallow, chalk, and slight wood turn to a smooth cocoa, wood and light chalk aftertaste. Near-medium bodied with average carbonation and slightly dry. Nice porter.

Dark black all the way to the edges, two fingers of light tan head and nice wispy lacing. Very chocolatey aroma, hints of roasted malt. Taste is earthy, roasted coffee and a finish of sweet then bitter roasted malts.

This arrives at the table with what remains of a nice head of light brown creaminess. Good aroma of chocolate. The flavor is well balanced and dominated by the chocolate found in the aroma. Smooth, medium bodied, and overall a pleasing well crafted Porter. Maybe Al has tweaked the recipe, but in any case, this batch was a better rate than the ones put up previously by others. A good solid brew all around.

draft at the brewery. Came a dark, dark...ruddy amberish black. Very litle head was left when it arrived at the table via the serever, but i suspect the bartender poured it that way, as it did lace well. I was very surprised and pleased with this beer. A silky palate and toasted bitter chocolate malt make it with enough hops to round out the flavor. this is actually a pretty nice porter.

Dark ruby to black, tan head. Clean, delicate aroma. A tad vinuous on the tongue, and mild roasted coffee flavor. Dirty, earthy hop finish.

Draft at the Downtown Grill. Poured dark brown, with a nice tan head. Malty, smoky, creamy flavor. A bit hoppy in the finish, not typical for porter, but I like hops.

Draft sampler at DGB. Reddish/brown color with a moderate off-white head that diminished slowly. Well balanced malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture. Same well balanced malt and chocolate flavor with moderate sweet finish. Good drinkable porter.
