Taste is bitter roasted malt and harsh green coffee bites. Nice but I don’t think this is a sweet stout. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2007 On tap. A coffee malty aroma. A dark deep almost black pour. A sweet stout that was very dry to me. with a good bitter and a flavor of chocolate. A solid palate with good carbonation and mouthfeel. A solid stout but I didn’t get the sweet. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2007 On tap at the Knoxville Brewers Jam. Pours totally black with a small tan head. Pretty dry for a sweet stout, or so i thought. Some chocolate and coffee notes along with roasted malt. Not great, but the best of the lot I had from downtowin grill. nearbeer (1866), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma is peppery, woody, and metallic coffee. Flavor is coffee, charred wood with slight smoke, peppery metallic molasses and marshmallow. Palate is medium bodied, slightly watery and smooth. Dryish finish. Hops seem to dominate the malt a bit much, but a good beer nonetheless. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
