Commercial Description:
Creamy and substantial, this brew is bursting with the flavor of dark roasted grains. Oats add a soft velvety texture that blends well with the distinct malty flavor.

Dark black with ruby highlights and a finger of nice tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Taste is bitter roasted malt and harsh green coffee bites. Nice but I don’t think this is a sweet stout.

Weak in the small amount of aroma that I could smell. It had bite, hops, water, and notes of dark chocolate. I did not like this beer.

On tap. A coffee malty aroma. A dark deep almost black pour. A sweet stout that was very dry to me. with a good bitter and a flavor of chocolate. A solid palate with good carbonation and mouthfeel. A solid stout but I didn’t get the sweet.

On tap at the Knoxville Brewers Jam. Pours totally black with a small tan head. Pretty dry for a sweet stout, or so i thought. Some chocolate and coffee notes along with roasted malt. Not great, but the best of the lot I had from downtowin grill.

Draft. Opaque black with a medium and lasting head. Aroma is peppery, woody, and metallic coffee. Flavor is coffee, charred wood with slight smoke, peppery metallic molasses and marshmallow. Palate is medium bodied, slightly watery and smooth. Dryish finish. Hops seem to dominate the malt a bit much, but a good beer nonetheless.

My favorite from their location in Knoxville. Pours a dark, dark brown with a tan head. Taste is a complex blend of roasted coffee, grains and some sweetness. Very nice.
