| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Deep and dark with a nose of fire-roasted nuts. A bit of coffee on the palate set off by dark roasted grains and a bit of malt. All in all, a fair stout. muenster (340), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2006 Draught at brewery. Pours dark brown, with a dark tan head. The appearance gives me hope, but the aroma lets me down. Some faint roastiness and oats pretty much sums it up. The flavor has some more qualities, like coffee, but as my girl noted, the coffee tatses like water sucked out of leftover coffee grounds. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2006 On tap at the Downtown Grill. Poured dark brown with ruby highlights and a dense brown head. Smoky, roasty coffee aroma. Flavor is smoky, coffee, toffee, caramel, and the finish is quite smooth and satisfying. An excellent stout. I can see why they always seem to run out and am glad to have finally had the chance to try it! beerBB (132), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Awesome flavor, dark color with milk chocolatey head. The hops give it a great crispness. I wish I had ordered a second. Will have it when I come back. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Feb 23, 2006 A fair example of a stout, but it’s the IPA of stouts. The malt flavor is almost entirely killed by the hops in this beer. Tmoney99 (4769), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2005 Draft sampler at DGB. Black color with a moderate light brown head that diminished slowly. Moderate roasted malt and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth creamy texture. Good complex roasted malt and grain flavor with a moderate sweet finish. Good stout. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2005 on draught. Deep dark brown with a reddish hue and a thin tan head. The aroma is pretty much of oats. The aroma is hard to detect, like the other Downtown brews. The first obvious flavor in this one is oats, then there’s something like old truck-stop coffee, then some faint sweetness like coconut milk. This brew could’ve been more harmonious.
