awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 23, 2006 A fair example of a stout, but it’s the IPA of stouts. The malt flavor is almost entirely killed by the hops in this beer.
lithy (385), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 17, 2008 Dark black with ruby highlights and a finger of nice tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Taste is bitter roasted malt and harsh green coffee bites. Nice but I don’t think this is a sweet stout. jcwattsrugger (4087), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 8, 2008 on tap-pours a thin brown head and black color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-cocoa/molasses. Taste is roasty dark malt/oat-cocoa/molasses, hint of hops. Full body. markwise (356), Just North of Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 21, 2008 Weak in the small amount of aroma that I could smell. It had bite, hops, water, and notes of dark chocolate. I did not like this beer. decaturstevo (1335), decatur, Tennessee, USA Nov 12, 2007 On tap. A coffee malty aroma. A dark deep almost black pour. A sweet stout that was very dry to me. with a good bitter and a flavor of chocolate. A solid palate with good carbonation and mouthfeel. A solid stout but I didn’t get the sweet. TURDFERGUSON (1182), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Nov 1, 2007 On tap at the Knoxville Brewers Jam. Pours totally black with a small tan head. Pretty dry for a sweet stout, or so i thought. Some chocolate and coffee notes along with roasted malt. Not great, but the best of the lot I had from downtowin grill.
