Commercial Description:
Just enough caramel malt is added to the mash to slightly deepen the pale golden color of thisslightly fruity ale which is balanced with a light hop bitterness and a multitude of hop aromatics.

Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Faint malty aroma and a watery palate but a decent bready and hops taste

Gold body with minimal off white head. Aroma is hoppy with some earth and a faint note of bready malt. Light hops throughout and rather simple.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear orange color. Head was thin and white. Aroma was of light malty caramel and toasted bread. Mild hop bitterness on the tongue with a toasted bread flavor. So so.

Poured dark gold clear color with some white head. Slight hop prescence to flavor and aroma but mostly sweet and watery. Refreshing but not much else there. It is though 5.8% which it masks.

I visited Downtown Joe’s many times during a recent 5-night stay in Napa on vacation from England. I switched to this from Tail Waggin’ in the misguided belief that it was lower in alcohol. It certainly tasted lighter and had more of an English light ale feel. I am certain the great atmosphere in the bar also aided consumption but I woud happily drink this anywhere.

Draft. Golden beer with a nice white head. Citrus hop aroma. Citrus flavor with some thin malt backing. Could use a bit more malt. Lingering bitterness.

Had on tap at the brewpub in Napa. Very good brewpub pale ale. Light orange appearance, good thick white head with decent lacing. Good subtle bitterness with some underlying citrusy fruitiness and a nutty back end flavor. Decently thick mouthfeel.

on tap at downtown joes: golden brown with a white head that disipates quickly. nice hop nose casade. your typical pale ale for a brewpub style. hops, hops and more hops. not over the top but a slightly grassy feel. med bodied. similiar to their amber.
