Commercial Description:
Released as both Drafting Room 14th Anniversary Ale and Troegs Scratch 12

This bold IPA is brewed with Pils and Vienna malt and Amarillo, Warrior, and Mount Hood hops. It has fresh citrus and pine aromas followed by bold dry hop flavors, a faint nutty malt backing and a tantalizing hop finish that lingers on the tongue.

Murky Orange Pour. Smell and taste are piney, grassy, with hints of citrus. Bitter finish. It’s pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a hazy fluorescent yellow with a white puffy head that lingers a little bit and settles into a collar with sporadic lacing. It may be the lightest colored IPA I’ve ever seen. The aroma is big on light citrus hops, mainly lemon zest and little pine, and an underlying sweet bready malt base. The taste has the same lemongrass bitterness up front with a bit more grapefruit than the smell. There is also a much bigger biscuity malt presence as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and super creamy with strong carbonation and very crisp in the finish. This is a supremely drinkable IPA and would be an absolute summer staple for me. Highly recommended!

This orange gold pour smells of citrus. The flavor is loaded with hops and tartness which is probably provided due to the little bit of orange flavor in there. I enjoyed it.

Thanks to Kempleton for this one Bottle poured into a pint glass produced two fingers worth of head that turned to a ring of lace around the glass. All this was on top of a hazy grapefruit colored body with some small suspended white partials floating around in it There are tons of piney grapefruit aromas on this brew. Very true to style a great hop presence to it Flavor follows the nose a hop bomb for sure nice bitter qualities. This is balanced out by some sweet malt that hit your tongue first from the initial sip. Medium in mouthfeel good carbonation for an IPA A good drinkable IPA it would be an Ideal brew for a good summer day with some spicy food. Thanks again Andrew really enjoyed this

12oz Bottle. Noses softly in sugary plum juice, passionfruit, and lemons. Very fresh and fruity. Dappled with a few piney washes. Pours a peachy golden orange, with a rim in clean white. Flavor is dense and concentrated. A nice rash of jamaican spice, fresh pineapple rind, airy Loblolly resin, and sweet grasses. Fresh. The palate of this beer is nice. Some very decent malt sweetness keeps pace with the hop attack. It then releases skyward with light, airy dryness and carbonation that really carries the beer. A nip of heat helps with the hops, in my opinion. Lots of long bitterness that holds well in spice and grasses. A nice beer. My favorite part about this beer, is that for a very affordable price, I was able to purchase an entire case of rare, brewery-only, limited release damn-good IPA. A decent score for any beerhunter.

Bottle. Pours turbid deep golden with 1-finger white head. Nose is floral, dry, hoppy, slightly funky. The flavor is dry, very flowery, with a big hop bill and some late citrus, funk, and perfumy notes. Smooth, dry palate that comes across like a very hoppy dry floral pils with a little saisony flavor.

This one has a bright yellow-gold color that screams "drink me!" Big citrus aroma with lots of sweetness and some pine. Flavor has a boatload of citrus and some pine hops backed up by just enough sweet malt. Really nice IPA that could easily fit into their regular rotation.

12oz bottle labeled Scratch 12, served in a tulip glass. Pours hazy yellow with a thin white head. Pretty standard IPA citrus/caramel smell. Big citrusy flavor with some lingering bitterness. Tastes very fresh and juicy. Quite nice.
