It was smooth but there wasn’t much texture on the palate. It smelled a bit nutty and a slight bit of chocolate. I’m not sure how much more I can say about this one. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Black and fizzy. Fizzy in the mouth too. Very sweet taste, and also quite watery in places, but packed with fruity raisins and chocolate, and with a hint of hazelnut. Very easily drinkable, covers 7.5% very well. CQC (224), Sydney, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2008 Sweet, pungent actually. Has a Belgian tinge to it... 284ml, it’s enough. Not a drinking, drinking stout more of a desert stout.
Nice -bu nothing like like coopers, let alone Vintage stout. Still good though. Have had a few & no nasties. glennmastrange (861), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread, burnt, molasses and dark chocolate, light hops and yeast notes of resin and earth, with cola, paper and alcohol in the background. Head is fizzy, light brown with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic and finishes the same with a little bitterness. Palate is medium, lightly syrupy and has a lively carbonation. It was okay, but the way it flattened out almost immediately wasn’t a big hit for me. smith4498 (918), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2008 Pours dark brown/black with light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts. Very sweet flavor with corn syrup, roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee, chocolate. Medium/full body with minimal carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. I used to drink this about 15 years ago and got excited when I saw it. However, it is not as good as I remember it to be. DerWeg (762), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Updated: May 2, 2009--- new rating - had this again at Only Cafe, and really liked it - the nice vanilla-toffee flavors is very frontal and finishes with only a late bit of hops. Also dark fruit, cocoa... pretty simple beer but lots of flavor and good balance. Uprate flavor - 3, palate - 1 overall - 3 ---- ORIGINAL RATE --- Very malty indeed, and sweet. Actually looks decent when poured but the taste has little roast for the overwhelming thick sweetness. It’s okay stuff and smells good but I can’t finish this, not for me. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 24, 2008 The aroma is toasted with coffee, chocolate, and brown sugar. It’s just weak and sort of acidic. The appearance is average for the style. The flavor is like the aroma. And the palate is a bit thin for a stout. Overall i would drink it again but only if given to me.
