The aroma has molasses, corn syrup, bold raisin, and a bit of caramel and brown bread. Mouthfeel is medium in body and slightly syrupy. I taste plenty more of the molasses and raisin with some caramel, prune and granny smith apple. Finish is medium in length and slightly sweet with coffee and fruit. Pours deep dark brown with tan head. The aroma is musty prunes, raisins, plums, a bit of caramel and burnt molasses. The taste is similar with a mix of caramel, prunes, ripe red apples and sweet slick malts. Very nice. Madsnp (627), Odense C, Denmark

Pours deep dark brown coloured with a nice creamy light brown head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, molasses sugar and roasted malt. Smooth texture. Sweet and mellow flavour with notes of fruit, chocolate and caramel. A decent brew. Well done. DeanF (330), Paris, France
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Appearance is very black, but the head is near nothing and dissipates quickly. Aroma is a little bit off it seems, at least that’s what I picked up - some grassiness or something that seemed out of place. The taste, however, is excellent - wonderful warm barley taste, toasted malts, slight hints of coffee and earthiness, and that makes it highly drinkable. Worth trying. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Heavy roasted chocolate aroma with hints of resinous fruit. Pretty thin but with a darned heavy kick. Chocolate milk sweetness with a hint of almost burnt coffee. It is actually tasty if a little plain. djd07 (755), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Bottle as shown from a hole in the wall bar in Jamaica. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head. The aroma is a sweet fruit malt with light roast and smoke. Thin mouthfeel with a roasted malt taste with coffee and chocolate. Very sweet and easy to drink while hiding the alcohol quite well. Wish this was available in the states. imdownthepub (5187), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Bottled, 284ml. Black brown with brown head. The aroma is really fruity with a sweet blackcurrant, ribena note in the roasty tones, the beer itself is initially a little sweet, but there is plenty of the dark roasted stuff to get hold of, coffee husk, chocolate, cocoa, then this fruitiness that comes over in the aroma. It certainly is a decent beer, a job well done.
