Licorice, chocolate aromas, sweet. Pours black very dark brown. Sweet, and syrupy, not at all what i was expecting. Malty and roasty, but sweet syrup. Not very good.

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Black colour, ruby in the highlights, brown head. Malty and roasty aroma, hints of tobacco and liquorice. Sweet, malty and roasty flavour, quite nice.

a difficult stout to compare with other stouts since Dragon is by far the sweetest of the sweet stouts... that said, I still love this brew despite its overly sweet nature

Thanks to Eugene for the gift. Poured black with a golden brown edge and medium sized beige head. The aroma is chocolatey and roasty with doughy yeasty notes. Mild tartness. The flavor is roasty and milk chocolatey with some mild tartness again. The flavor had some fruity character as well. Nice warmth. Good example of a tropical FES.

Beer was as dark as night in the glass with a negliable amount of head. The aroma, and the taste, was somewhat peculiar and very difficult to describe. I certainly noticed coffee, molasses, and something else spicey that I can’t put my finger on. As the beer warmed up the flavor continued to grow and become more overwhelming, but the finish remained smooth. This is definitely not a session beer for me, but as a one pint per night beer this would be a nice change.

Black in color. Foamy brown head, no bubble to see through the murk. Heavy coffee malt aroma and a hint of cream. A sweet smell that dominates any hop. Thick palate but i couldn’t concentrate because of all the SUGAR. My God this is sweet. I have never had a beer like this before. This is stout to the extreme dimensions. The most unbalance brew I have experienced. Sweeter than a grape soda. If anything, the sucrose does well to hide the alcohol. Not what I was looking for and probably not what i will seek out often in the future.

Very sweet, subtle taste of cherries. High ABV is undetectable. Roasted taste. A great beer.
