black with a medium sized tan head. boozy aroma with notes of bitter dark chocolate and red wine. flavor is bittersweet dark chocolate, red wine, and syrup. why the small 284ml bottle?....cheap asses. much better than lion heart stout though.

284mL bottle. Super dark brown. very thin tan head. Aroma of a Hard, Chocolate flavored, Candy. Over-caramelized sugars flavor. Very, very sweet. Cola syrup, simple syrup made of cane sugar. Slight milk stout sourness in the finish. Not very yummy. But this one is strong!!!

Bottled (BB 05/2008)
Very dark ruby color, tiny expresso head. Dark fruits, coffee beans and molasses in the nose. Fizzy carbonation. Coca cola -sweetness: cane sugar, milk chocolate and molasses. Quite light for this ABV as a stout. Not really alcoholic. Like a sweetened version of Guinness FES. I didn’t like much this one, usually these tropical stouts are tastier.

Black body with a very thick and modestly retained tan head. the aroma is at first a very earthy variety of roastiness. Notes of coffee beans, milk chocolate, toasty grains and caramelized sugar cane. Touches of marshmallow creme. The aroma is unique enough to warrant repeated whiffs. Some sourness and lactic acid encroaches upon further warming. Mild alcohol for the strength paired awkwardly with hints of anise root round out the aroma. The flavor is Bitterness is nonexistent. Overly sweet, nearly completely enveloping the roast. Complexity is useless, noticeable or not, when it’s so outshined by ridiculous cloying malts and sugars. Higher alcohol avert such an abhorrent lack of dryness. Albeit, this is a sweet stout, but my goodness, enough is enough. This would be fantastic inside chocolate candies in small doses. The finish is sweet and has hints of raisins and sugar plums. Alcohol is lightly warming late. The mouthfeel is lightly to moderately carbonated and has little initial or residual stickiness, as was expected upon first sweet sip. This has enough sweetness in one bottle to accomodate an entire barrel.

Courtesy Dragonstout. Black. Brown edges. Small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, and sugar. Flavor adds burnt sugar, dark fruits, and light roastiness. Smooth, medium body. Very drinkable.

Pours black with a mostly receding tan head. Aroma of dark malt, crystal, and airy toffee. Taste is oxidized roast, with light notes of chocolate and foamy crystal malt. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lactose, and lush carbonation. Not good, would not drink again.
