| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 30, 2007 Completely opaque black pour with a decent tan head that fades quickly into a little tan ring and some filmy froth. Malty aroma with a vaguely metallic tang. Oh my god, this is sweet. malty, sugary, corn syrup-laced coffee with a bit of buttery toffee and chocolate. The dominating flavor, though, unfortunately, is the corn syrup. The finish is, weirdly, just like the flavor with no discernable hop presence or bitterness. Too sweet by half, it’s thin-bodied and lacking in complexity. The best thing I can say is that it masks the alcohol well. Not a BAD beer, I guess, but not a particularly good one. skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2007 Aroma of moderate roasted malts, caramel and chocolate. Bit fruity. Black coloured with a lasting, thin, brown head. Taste is sweet, caramel malty with some dried fruits, some sugar, some raisin. Carbonated with a light-medium body. Not really great, but enjoyable. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 22, 2007 pours black. low carbonation. aroma is caramel, booze, some roast? flavor is lots of caramel, some fruit, suprisingly noticable booze for the 7.5%. finish is definitely sweet. I’m sure this would be a great find in jamaica, but here, it’s nothing to seek out. probstk (1060), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: Deep brown-black withg reddish hues, smallish mocha head, no light transmission.
Aroma: Lots of blackstrap molasses, some berries/currants, rich vanilla, a touch of funk, wood, licorice; a little too much alcohol, a touch of chocolate and nuts.
Palate: Medium bodied, some powderiness and syrupiness, very soft carbonation.
Flav.: Quite fruity – berries, grapes, cherries; some chocolate and vanilla, molasses and licorice; sweet to the point of being cloying; too much alcohol on the finish.
Nothing like sitting on the beach in Jamaica, sipping a cold, refreshing Dragon Stout. Ja says: you crazy, mon. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 20, 2007 Huge thanks to Dragon Stout, appropriately enough, for sharing this one with all of us at the Orlando gathering.
Pours a dark brown body with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, raisins, figs, plums, cherries. Flavor is sweet, wtih berry notes coming through, back of the tongue is molasses and sweet milk. Finishes with very odd note, almost cola like and very sweet. Palate is cloying and thin to medium. An interesting brew. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2007 Courtesy of Dragonstout, big surprise, thanks!! Pours a very dark brown with a thinnish tan colored head. Aroma is chocolate, raisins, dried cherries, agreed with those that say this has some quad characteristics. Flavor is roasted malts, sweet caramel, again some dried fruits. Palate is medium to full, mildly carbonated, very sweet finish. Unique for sure. A little too far on the sweet side. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2007 Courtesy Dragonstout. Go figure. Pours a pitch black with a thin light tan head. Alot of dark fruit in the smell, almost like a quadruple. Some licorice and dark malts round out the aromas. Very light bodied, and really sweet. Get some big caramel and almost like liquid sugar. Really unique taste, Ive never had anything like it. Kind of goes wierd with a stout though, not exactly how I like my stouts, but I can appreciate its uniqueness.
