Hooray, a break from the swill! International Night of Swill was at least international with this one - no swill to be found. An excellent foreign stout. Dark brown pour, but lots of red hues. Small head. Nutty sweet aroma. Very light mouthfeel, yet a sweet molasses stickiness to the body. Almost a Coke taste. I really like how these foreign stouts make what is really a light tasting stout. I thought it might have used a little more flavour, but otherwise, a really nice experience.

Bottle. Pours dark brownish-black, opaque with a moderate tan head that diminishes to a ring around the rim. Aroma is of dark dried fruits, a bit of milk, cocao and herby-floral notes. Flavor is sweet roasty malts with molasses, prunes, a bit of chocolate and hints of grass. Body is full with a gently, creamy carbonation. This is a nice beer- surprised me for a Caribbean stout especially.

330ml brown bottle. Dark brown beer with a thick dark beige head. Some chocolate and roast malts in the aroma, almost a liqour like scent. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel. First taste is sweet dark malts, then roasted malts kick in. Some bitterness in the finish with brown sugar. Pretty nice.

284 ml bottle. Dark ruddy toned, translucent body and a nice thick tan head. Aroma of mild roast and dark malt with an unexpected sweet lactic note giving the impression of milk chocolate. Also includes a briny note and a hint of butterscotch. Flavor is moderately sweet and chocolatey with low bitterness and very little hop presence. Light roast emerges slowly. Medium body, seems a little thin for the style but does have some creaminess. Inoffensive and drinkable but unexciting. Thanks erway.

Beer #16 in the line-up at The International Night Of Swill. By this point, we needed something with colour and aroma and flavour before heading into the homestretch. Very dark brown colour with a nice tan head. Both aroma and flavour are very sweet and roasty. Nice hints of molasses and licorice in the flavour. Really hides the alcohol well. Nice stuff.

[284 ml. bottle] Poured a dark black color with a very fizzy brown head. Very odd aroma. Lots of things going on in it. A lot of sweetness and some metal and malt flavor as well. The flavor is very strange and fruity. Tastes like coffee mixed with candy. Very sweet. Too sweet for my likes. Metallic aftertaste.

Black with a tan head. Aroma of black licorice. Flavor reminds me of really strong coffee with a lot of sugar. Subtle smokiness, but not a whole lot of complexity here. High ABV can sneak up on you after a few.

Bottle. This is a bit of fun. Not a beer to take seriously. It’s a sort of comic beer. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. It’s not great, it’s not clever, but - apart from raging toothache from the sugar rot, this is an enjoyable ten minutes.
