| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2004 Bottle- Pours a dark black body with a brownish head that is quite bubbly. Aroma is alcohol, like a port, slight coffee, with some sour malty characters. Taste is like malty, sour and coffee with some hintsd of what seem to be red wine. Reminds me of a port in a way. Leaves a nice bittermess in the throat that left me wanting more. Decent ! JadoreBlanche (114), London, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2004 Nice thick, light brown head. Settles very slowly. Malted milkball aroma with a bit of roasted grains. Color is a very dark reddish black. Flavor is a little thin but not that bad. Milky sweet with some chocolate and roasted malts. Finish is creamy and smooth. Hides its alcohol very well. This brew is better than I expected. Not as filling as most stouts. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2004 284ml bottle. Roasty, fruity malt aroma, earthy, deeply plummy and lightly cherryish, plenty of semi-sweet chocolate and oaky nuances. Deep dark brown color, nearly black, filtered, with a seeming lack of head and lace. Flavor is likewise darkly roasty and fruity, the sweetness balanced well by the grainy black malt bitterness and hops. Faint vinous character, some warmth and raisin on the finish. Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated and oily, body is medium-full. Mildly complex, even. Enjoyable Foreign Stout.
