Flavour is pleasant and surprisingly easy to drink considering the octane. Sweet but not cloyingly so. Bit simplistic overall, but pleasant. Alcohol makes a brief appearance in the finish. Palate is a bit light but is pleasant. TheBeerGod (3163), Newport News, Virginia, USA

Pours black with a medium cocoa colored head. Aroma is sweet but spicy with cinnamon and perhaps brown sugar coming through. Hint of caramel and roasted malt as well. Taste is sweet with cane sugar and caramel being prevalent along with alcohol notes trying to make their way through. Damn nice and better than I remember when I had this 6 or so years ago. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth with only a hint of alcohol warmth. Finish is semisweet but enjoyable nonetheless with more caramel and brown sugar coming through. Damn good beer! Alcoholic flavour, malty sweet but not unpleasant, nice notes of dark sweet chocolate. Aftertaste is dry with notes of roasted malt. A perfect foreign stout, full and sweet. Try it! leaparsons (4749), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Black with a beige head of foam. Aromas are sweet roast malts and alcohol. Flavours are roast coffee malts, molasses and licourice. I had this ages ago and it seemed better then. Still OK, though. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2004 Very dark with a foamy head that disappears quickly. Malty aroma offers hints of mocha, roasty nuttiness and alcohol. Sweet and smooth balanced with a pleasantly dry and bitter finish. The alcohol provides an edgy sharpness that bites but doesn’t detract. A suprisingly good find in the lager-dominated Carribean. beersnob73 (14), Florida, USA

Fairly smooth. Strong but without any really unpleasant aspects. I actually didn’t find that the alcohol was as noticeable going down as comparable % brews. Reminds me a bit of kahlua, sticky sweet with chocolate and coffee flavors. Afternote: that little bottle packs a kick. Jamaica mon! chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England

Not really my favoured style and one is enough. But overall I’d rather have one of these than ten bland Caribbean lagers. Bottled, Fisherman’ bar, Speightstown, Barbados.
