Draft... This beer rocks!... Crystal clear, copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma & flavor are vineous, chocolatey and earthy (peat). Good balance. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Dry, grassy finish. Excellent Scottish ale.

Sorry but I don’t see what these other raters found so appealing in this beer, especially with so many other great Scottish Ales out there. Clear amber with a brownish head. Aromas of roasted malt, sweet fruit, touches of smoke, and alcohol. Flavor consisted of hops, pineapple, grapes, some sweetness. Overall a weak tasting beer with nothing standing out, and kind of getting washed right out of the mouth.

Finally, a beer with soem character. Pours a dark amber color. has a very light caramel taste to it with a bitter, hoppy aftertaste.

Amber in color witha a tan/off white head. A sweet berry aroma with hints of alcohol. A honey taste with a bit of a bitter hint. There was also some liquor-like notes. Very taste and easy to drink, almost too easy.

Smoky, peppery nose and flavor. Maltiness comes out under the smoked flavor. Unique beer.

Hand-pull at the brewery. Wonderful toffee notes and deep rich mahogany malt tones. Big body with some hop dressing ... maybe a little too much really for a scotch ale. Nice peppery yeastiness, a well done scotch ale made better from the cask.

Tap at dragonmead. Pours a dark brown but quite clear. Small oatmeal colored head that dissipates rapidly. Smells faintly of medium dark fruit, some caramel/roasted malt and a bit of salt. Begins very mild, lightly sweet and quite watery. Has a salty-sweet body with a tad bit of fuggles hops on the finish. Light bodied, low carbonation. Somewhat flowery. Not a whole lot going on. Smooth.
