On tap at HopCat. Notes are a little scrambled for this late brew. The aromas and flavors are malty with a tea like spice. The rest of the notes are illegible, my notes are on that random girl’s team!
Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2009 On tap at The Hunt Club. A heather ale, yeah sure I’ll try it. You can see the carbonation bubbles in it, and then a white creamy head tha leaves spider lace. Creamy mouthfeel. The aroma is malty. Good bitterness however in the taste and not a bad beer. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 29, 2007 (Sampler @ Dragonmead Brewery, Warren, MI): Deep red, dark brown color. Light tan head. Flowery, dark fruit aroma, Sweet smelling. Dark roasted. Chocolately, dark. Dry chalky taste, sweet. Some warming. Watery porter-like. Silphium (2114), Haslett, Michigan, USA Aug 19, 2007 On tap at Dragonmead. Deep red-brown body, thin buff head. Light potpourri aroma. Earthy, herbal body with sweet toasts and brown sugar, quite perfumey and floral. Interesting. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA Jul 19, 2005 On tap at brewery: Ruby/copper in color with a mostly sustaining tan head. aromas are floral herb gardens, spice, and salt/soy notes. Flavor is the floral heather mixed with deadened weak hops, also had some salt hints which fade as the beer drains. Finishes with all water and finishes quickly. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 24, 2005 Draft... Hazy, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The lightly floral aroma and subtle, malty flavor are a bit nondescript, but that’s fairly consistent with the style. Hints of butterscotch, herbs and white wine. Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Short, crisp, vineous finish. A subtle, difficult style to master. Dm’s done a pretty nice job. walleye (876), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Mar 26, 2005 at the brewery, poured a reddish with a white head. aroma fruits, pears, apple, mangos and some caramel, and malts. flavor the apples and pears come out 1st than the caramel and some yeast as it warmed all the flavors fell off. had a watery mouthfeel. flemdawg (485), Naples, Florida, USA Mar 23, 2005 Reddish in color with a white head. Fruity aroma, mangos especially, with a carmel malt hit as well. Apples and pears with just a touch of mango for th fruity taste and also some carmel and a hint of bitterness. Easy drinking.
