drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 22, 2007 From my days when I could go to the brewery. Solid pale ale. Golden. I like mine hoppier, but I love Dragonmead all around. PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA Dec 15, 2005 pours a nice amber color with a decent sice head and lots of lacing. Aroma is grassy and has lots of hops. Flavor is again very hoppy and pleasent. A very good beer from Dragonmead! weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 2, 2005 Appears a copper color with a lush ivory head and tons of scattered, streaky lacing. Nice retention.
Smell is buttery with citrus hops and a light bleach aroma lingering.
Taste is buttery citrus hops with some butterscotch and mild malt.
Mouthfeel is crisp and hoppy but sort of weak.
IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA Oct 4, 2005 On tap at the brewery, listed as 7%. Deeper amber color, off white head. Fuller hop aroma, lots of pine and citrus, decent malt backing. The flavor is pretty bitter, light fruitiness lurking in the background. Medium bodied, bitter finish, some drying out. Pretty nice. scraff (1920), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Mar 18, 2005 Sparkling orange, fluffy white head. Nose was quite piney, with hints of white grapefruit, orange zest, and light florals throughout. Taste practically matched aroma. Balance fell more to the hops side and basically was the name of the game here. Only a hint of sweet malt in the background. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry hoppy finish. A nice drinkable APA to get your hop fix on... SuIIy (1405), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Mar 1, 2005 pours darker then most pale ales, with a nice thick head. has some fruity tastes to it, gives a hint of tartness then bales out to a more sweet after taste that sticks to the sides of your mouth jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 22, 2004 On tap at the brewery. Orange red color when I held the sampler glass up to the light. Foamy off white head. Strong hop nose of grapefruit rind and pine forest. The initial sip is met with a hop burn on the tongue. Apple sauce and orange rind flavors with a long lingering citrus hop finish. This is a good PNW style IPA. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA Nov 21, 2004 Tap. Medium amber color with reddish hues. Great flowery hop nose. Good balance between malt and hop in the taste. On the shy side of medium bodied. Smooth palate.
