Sep 6, 2006 Tap at Dragonmead. Good balance of hops. Sweet aftertaste. Doesn’t have the citrus aroma like other IPA’s; nevertheless, still a good brew.

May 10, 2006 Bottle thanks to walleye: Dark coper color. Aroma is more malt than hops, carmelly. There is some floral hops. Flavor is very balanced, kinda sweet and a little grassy at the end. Could definitely use a little more of a bite.

May 1, 2006 Saturday afternoon in Warren. Nice little IPA to start off the day’s drinking. Not too hoppy (could stand a bit more bite), but better than just about any other IPA you can get in a Detroit-Metro brewpub. And this is Dragonmead! Respect the brew!

Feb 7, 2006 Being an IPA fan, this was a bit of a dissapointment to me. I’d call this a pale ale, not an india pale ale. There’s a decent amount of hop in the nose and the start of the flavour, but then pleasant maltiness comes in, and hop bitterness and aroma take the back seat. Body is light. I’d probably have rated this higher if I was expecting a pale ale, it seems like it would be a nice, refreshing, aromatic beer withing the realm of regular pale ales. The hops that were there were nice, not too piney for my tastes like some IPAs, but it just needs MORE (preferably the centennials!)

Sep 28, 2005 Updated: Sep 29, 2005on draft at a local bar. fresh aroma of hops and malt, but the bitterness content of the flavor does not do the aroma much justice. perfect malt content for an IPA, but the bitterness is lacking. if only it were as hoppy as the aroma suggests!

Mar 25, 2005 Transparent yellow/amber with a lasting light beige head. Very little hop aroma for an IPA, musty scents, skunk, wonder bread (or maybe something like uncooked noodles). Hops presnt themselves in the flavor more so than in the nose, but are hidden beneath an aweful skunk taste, before reappaering at the finish. Overall a light and watery beer lacking the hop kick that I would normally expect.

Mar 23, 2005 Clear amber color with a firm off white head. Grapefruit and floral hop aroma and some malts to balace it out. Bitter grapefruit rind hops but they were weaker than I would have expected in the taste. Also got some malts to balance it out at the finish. A solid beer.

Feb 22, 2005 from the tap. poured a amber with off white head with a of fwhite head. aroma molts, hops, grapes, honey, grassy. flavor, light hops I would have thought this would have been more hoppy, malts grapes, honey
