Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jul 14, 2009 Bottle courtesy of dmschefke. Pours copper and cloudy with a thin white head. Smells of earth, light citrus, herbal. Tastes resiny with some caramel sweetness and a spicy finish. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jul 5, 2009 Malty aroma. Spicy, bready taste. Lots of caramel and malt as well. Drinkable. Bit musty in the overall taste. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Jun 5, 2009 pours a clear copper with a nice fluffy offwhite head. aroma of moldy bread, hay rotten wood, stale pale malts. light mouthfeel. maybe i got a bad bottle, not sure how long it was sitting at peter’s gourmet something or other. This beer was a little more palatable as it warmed, but still wasn’t good. Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA May 20, 2009 12oz bottle from dmschefke, thanks Dave. Hazy orangish/brown color with a nice white head. Mild hop aroma, really light actually. Decent hop bite, much better than the armoma, some maltiness as well. Decent lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA May 15, 2009 Bottle from dmschefke. Thanks! Pours hazy amber with short lived beige head. Smell is buttery malt. Wow, very buttery and no hops in the nose. Taste is slightly fruity with almost no bitterness and some butteriness and caramel malt. Body is very watery with almost zero carbonation. Either an off bottle or not a great IPA. Still drinkable but not particularly enjoyable. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA May 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear rust orange with very small tan head, and there is a lot of carbonation accumulated on the glass. Some nice hop notes in the nose, including floral, and bitter. There is also a presence of Carmel malt. The beer is fairly light bodied with nice bitterness throughout. There is some pretty heavily roasted malt tastes, that seem a little out of place. It’s enjoyable. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy dark orange color. The head was thick, creamy, and off white with a tan tint. Some lace was left behind on the glass. Attractive aroma of mango, pineapple, and caramel. Medium bodied and sweet with caramel, subdued pine, and some mango/orange. Smooth mouth feel with carbonation on the lower end of the spectrum and minimal bitterness.
