Butterscotchy aroma, vinous, candylike, with caramel notes. Very sweet body with banana, a touch of clove, bready with hints of honey and caramel. Alcohol light but detectable. Reminded me of a strong hefeweizen fermented with a Belgian yeast strain. Again, my rating may be a bit generous. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2005 On tap at the brewery. Uhh, this isn’t a dubbel. Not a tripel either. It may be an abbey ale of some sort, but that would make it a Belgian Strong since it’s really not fitting into a style. Anyway, Golden orange color, thin rign of tiny bubbles. Yeasty with notes of pear, banana, and apple, light spice. Medium creamy body, very light alcohol, some dryness. Good stuff, I was pleasantly surprised. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2005 On tap at brewery: Transparent light orange, mostly flat and thick, very small off white head which doesn’t hang around for long. Lots of aromas present in this one, fruits galore (apricots and cider apples), also has lots of powerful yeast and wheat characteristics. Flavor is on the spicy side with oranges and smoothing malts as well. Has a two part finish, first spicy and then sweeter malt. SuIIy (1504), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Still sugary, as should be expected, but kind of easy going down. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 12, 2004 Tap: Agree with Walleye almost word for word. Couldn’t pinpoint anything except a sweet malt/roasted sugar finish. I thought the taste was very similiar to the Andromeda Ale. Overall was just ok. walleye (882), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 27, 2003 On tap at Ashley's Ann Arbor MI: Copper hue with no head or lace. Fruity (ripe pear?), sweet malt, fresh-cut wood, and vinous. Spicy sweet with a little hoppy balance. Medium to full-bodied, sticky and soft mouthfeel. and hint of astringent alcohol of the finish. An okay dubbel but lack punch and fullness to rate higher.
