I have gotten the impression that with the prices of their ingredients going sky high, they have cut back on the quantity of their ingredients in their brews. The end result is much weaker than usual brews. The aromas and flavors all appeared weak IMHO. With that said, on to the rating. This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated brown colored body. The almost non-existant aroma was brown malt and nutty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of nutty and brown malt. Not one that I would likely buy again. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 10, 2004 2004 draught. Auburn with some dark yellows, quite clear, little head. Aroma has earthy, soily hops in it, a touch of roast maybe, but it’s quite faint. Flavor begins with a small dose of chocolate sweetness, then comes the nuttiness, big and chewy and finally it ends on an astringently bitter note. Don’t see the complexities they talk about really. It’s a hard style to make, but they just need more malt in this one. This thing is dry, almost burnt tasting at times and horribly watery. Pailhead (2609), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 10, 2004 On tap: Chocolate nutty aroma. Mostly a transparent reddish-brown with a small off-white head. Very light chocolate nutty taste from start to finish. Not a lot of character to this beer. Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 19, 2007 On tap at Dragonmead. Clearish red-brown body, medium tight cream head. Thin, toasty body with light sweetness, balanced by leafy, herbal, bitter hops. Somewhat lifeless and by-the-numbers. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 29, 2004 Rated purely on taste. This is the first hemp ale I have tried. Poured a brown color, moderate head. Aroma was of malt and funky nut. Taste was also very different, I just need to try another of this style to be fair. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 12, 2004 Tap: Poured a dark brown ale color with light head. Couldn’t pinpoint any aroma. Nice balance in the flavor but dry and watery at the same time. Tempted to say could have been an older batch. Will try again just in case. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
