| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2006 On tap at the brewery. Bronze with a very light head. Fruitiness in the nose a lot. I didn’t get dark fruits, but, medium, if that makes sense. Flavour goes into malts a lot, like the other dubbel I had at the brewery, but instead of going more into fruits with a subtle hop finish, this one went creamy and rich, a little bready with almost no hop character. Almost buttery tones in the flavour which fades out rather than having a more defined finish (more hops would give it that, if one felt it needed it) weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Appears a dark amber/brown with a small off-white head that fades into a collar. Nice head retention.
Smell is of caramel, raisins, nuts, dough, dark fruit...Belgian and amazing.
Taste is of the same aromas and is Belgian abound! One of the best versions I’ve had from an American brewery.
Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly sweet. Gentle dough and Belgian yeast swirl around the palate. walleye (882), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2005 On tap at Dragonmead. Deep red-brown body, thin light buff head. Sweet candy aroma with cherry and caramel, not big on the toasts, spices, and plums I usually pick up in this style. Generic, sweet body with caramel and bread, toffee, fermented melon, honey, and a touch of alcohol. Medium-bodied but too sweet. This was OK but my rating my even be a bit generous, as I was celebrating a White Sox victory. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Malty first sip with slight hop finish and malt/sugar aftertaste. Agree with Pailhead not a true Begian Dubbel. Pailhead (2606), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Transparent amber with a white head. Rather sweet with a kind of citrus hop finish. Doesn’t really make me think of a Belgian Dubbel. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
