Commercial Description:
This classic dry stout is moderately bittered with E. Kent Golding hops and is balanced between Roasted Barley and Chocolate Malts. It is fermented with Irish Ale Yeast that leaves the finish of the beer dry, thick and delicious. O.G. 1.066

Thickest of the stouts on tap at my visit. No head, but a few lonely bubbles on top. Excellent chocolate cake nose, very distinctly CHOCOLATE CAKE! Rich and chewy from the first "bite". Roasty flavors at the end bring it to a somewhat dry end. Wow, it is rich and thick...yummmm...... Even better as it warmed, showing some hints of hops in the long chocolatey finish.

Growler brought down to FL by my sister. Pours deep dark blackness with nice mocha head. Nice looking brew. The growler gave it a whiff of oxidation to start off the nose with. The bulk of it is toffee, burnt malts, dark roastiness, some vague dark fruitiness somewhere in the background and a hint of coco. The taste is much the same with roastiness, sweet toffee, burnt malts approaching ashy to go along with an underscore of faint oxidation. The mix of roasty malts, toffee and seemingly some oatmeal twang creates on interesting note that closes in on mild sourness. Enjoyable product with delicious creamy mouthfeel.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a large sized head of finely sized dark brown colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was uncarbonated opaque and dark ruby red brown in color. The aroma was that of medium strength dark malts and molasses. The mouth feel was tingly yet smooth with a malty palate. The flavor contained notes of dark malts, molasses and was somewhat sweet.

Black with a touch of dark red at the edges. A light tan head as well. Coffee molasses and roasted malt aroma. Carmel, and coffee dryness and malts in the taste and maybe some honey. Tasy.

They say an English style stout, at the brewpub and popular so it is frequent on cask. Black with mocha small head but lots of lace. Strong carbonation, drinkable and concentrated flavour, above average mouthfeek. Some roast, chocolate malt. Not what you expect.

On tap at Dragonmead. Deep brown-black body, tan head. Roasty nose with molasses notes. Sweet chocolate body backed by dry roast and light vinous notes. Tasty.
