Commercial Description:
This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

12 oz bottle via ogglethorp (thanks!). Pours a crystal clear copper with a small white head. Nose is more like a German Wit than a Triple. Cloves, Bananna, coriander. Taste is the same with some fruity easters...peach, pear, bubblegum, and bananna yeast. Alcohol burn in the finish...Aftertaste is chalky. Medium body, high carbonation. This does not taste like a Triple should taste...

Pours a deep ruddy amber color, a little bit hazy, with a thin cap and ring of bubbles. Scant webby lacing. Huge bubblegum aroma. Fruity bubblegum at that. Fruity malt flavor that is big on candi sugar, but also has a nice dry grainy presence in there for balance. Also a toasted malt - bready yeast flavor. A little herbal hop presence in the finish that I thought was a little like black tea (I love bitter black tea). Mild carbonation and full body.

Pours a dark copper color with a quarter inch head that settles very slowly to a thin layer of foam, leaving behind a thick sheeting of lace. This is the darket Trippel that I have seen, although I’ve read that they used to be pretty dark before Westmalle made their lighter colored version. Smell; this has some very good banana and clove aromas, as well as what I can only describe as bubblegum. I also get a bit of a grainy profile as this warms a bit. Taste; wow, the bananas stand out even more in the flavor. The cloves and bubblegum flavors are there as well, but not quite as strongly as the bananas. I’m getting a little bit of a pepper, and candied sugar with a little orange peel thrown in the mix. Did I mention bananas yet? Moutheel is thick and a touch on the syrupy side. Drinkablility is also really good, with only a little bit of alcohol present. Overall a very enjoyable beer.

Poured very light with a pretty white head. Aroma was a little clovey and had a lot of bananas. Also had the belgian yeastiness going on. Not to bad at all.

Bottle shared by bgburdman: Clear gold in color with a white head. Aroma pale malts, some fruits, a bit bready. Flavor, spicy, sweet, some fruits, and a little bready. That’s all I got to say about that.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange/copper. Dominated by fruity esters and some solid spicy background notes. A solid triple.

Cloudy golden pour with a ring of white lace. Boring aroma and flavor of yeast and honey. The palate is light and watery and the carbonation is low.

Bottle, from trade with walleye. Good aroma, sweet. Clove, honey, hint of grass, minor fruitiness. Clean golden orange color, good size head that faded slowly. Good lace. Small amount of sediment in bottle. Spiced sweet flavor. Like aroma, clove is dominant. Little tinniness in there too. Medium body, creamy oily mouthfeel, dry sweet finish. Seemed tohit all the right marks, but not something I normally seek out. Thanks walleye
