Commercial Description:
This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

Sampled at the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival. Musty, woody aroma. Golden in color with a minimum head, but lots of carbonation formation. BIG taste of hoppyness goodness a pleasant bitter ending that doesn’t overstay. Strong forward tasting mouth feel. Got to run right out a buy a full size sample.

On tap at the brewpub, a most interesting place. The highest recommended to me. Lots of lace, cloudy orange and white ring head. Decent body, suitable though aggressive carbonation. Some fruitiness. Yeasty aroma

Banana in the nose. Poured a golden orange. The flavor had banana, sweet, brown sugar, slightly sour.

Bottle: Dull caramel, pale sand colored foamy head, very nice lacing.   Combination dark pitted fruit skin and bright flora on the nose, caramel like sweetness also.   A hint of alcohol lingers.   Moreso pale fruit skin soaked in alcohol on the tongue, not brash but very warming.   Body is fairly nice, mouthfeel is moderate.   Lingering plum skin, slightly sour, and very warming.   Interesting take on a Tripel.   Thanks Larry for the bottle!

Bottle, has a white price tag type sticker that says "09 05" on it, and a yellow one that says "033004". Not really sure of the vintage. Pours a lightly clouded copper orange with some yeast floaties and a thin ring of lightly-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lots of sweet caramel malt, bready yeast and peppery spice. Body starts with a sweet, sugary caramel maltiness, a touch of yeasty character and an earthy, bitter, warming finish. An ok tripel, but needs more balance.

Thanks Phil (Philip)! This beer has a hearty wheat and caramel aroma. It is copper colored with a thin white head. The smooth sweet taste consists of malt, wheat, caramel. A nice sweet caramel and wheat taste linger well.

Poured a light amber color. Floral aroma. Flavor was more of the same, and fairly sweet, as well. This has a good kick to it. Fair amount of floaties. A pretty good brew overall.

This, to me, was halfway between a tripel and a belgian strong brown ale. Pungent, a little spicey, sweet, fruity. A little thicker and stickier (but in a very smooth way) than what I’d call medium bodied. A little alcohol and bitterness in the finish. Doesn’t strike me as complicated as the better Belgian imports, but still quite delicious.
