Damn corporeal being. This one is reddish hued with a thin, persistent head. Floral, nectar, honey. Not a bad way to go. And a super-cool name to boot. TheBeerNinja (137), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2006 Pours a hazey bronzish color with a foamy white hed that lingers well. Nose is yeasty and tropical, with pleasant fruity notes. Flavor is a tad sweet with a nice rounded bitterness. Not bad at all. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Four pack bought in Royal Oak at Holiday (which is becoming the best place in these parts to buy beer). Dragonmead is paradise in Southeast Michigan. When you can’t make it to Warren, it’s wonderful to be able to pick up a six. Belgian style. All the typical things and flavors one says about good Belgian style. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Light coper color with a smallish off-white head. Full nose, with aromas of over-ripe fruit. Bananas, pears and a touch of mild alcohol. Mulled and spiced fruit swim about in the mouth. The malt comes out more as it warms. A mild caramel, with light candi and pie crust. Perhaps a bit sweet at this time, but this should dry out nicely with a littler age. Thanks again Joel. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Semi-translucent and brass in color with a bubbly white rim for the head. Nice, snappy aroma filled with bananas, peppered phenols, cloves, grainy and leaven breaded wonderment. Flavor is tasty, with substantive spice elements. Peppered grains and banana poppyseed muffins serves as transitory elements, leading to bananas & cream oatmeal. Spicy, grainy and a cursory delight. Mild hop bitterness is accentuated by a lilac floral character. Solid and all together with a palate spawning presence. Formidably and phenomenally balanced, and effervescence is dead-on. Finish is laden with herbal allocations and spicy accentuations. A damn good tripel, however you choose to spell it. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2006 Thanks Joel! The beer pours to a clean dark amber body on first pour than becomes a ligher colored hazy/murky yeast shot at the bottom of the bottle. The aroma is quite strong. Banana, ripe fruits, cloves, and light white pepper. The flavor has noticeable white pepper and Belgian yeasts with candi sugar. Nice flavor. It is smooth and balanced. The palate is lightly chewy with a medium body. A great tripel!
