Light aroma of banana, yeast, phenols, band aid, and a faint hint of alcohol. Taste is ripe banana, mild clove, yeast, spice, citrus, sugary malts, with just a hint of tartness. Finishes medium dry with some mild hops, grass, and sweet grains. Light to medium bodied. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA

To me, this has the what I am now calling "12 oz tripel" flavor and character. Golden with a white head and even carbonation. Aroma is somewhat fruity but lacking in the characters that a good properly carbonated tripel has. Very malty flavor and decent, with a very smooth palate, yet there is something missing here to make it top notch. Perhaps a little overcarbonation and bottle conditioning would help... | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2005 A good ale very soft on the hops with little alpha acid. The malts left a sweet honey/ banana taste. The head had a hint of citrus but could have hung around a little longer. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2004 Cloudy orange. Nice mouthfeel -- smooth and soft. Slightly sweet and doughy malts. Hint of bandaid. Somewhat spicy with a slight zip. Pretty good, but it seemed to be missing something that I can’t put my finger on. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2004 Amber. Phenolic, fruity and spicy aroma with hints of sugars, banana, clove, cinnamon and ginger. Again, very phenolic and a rather typical creation that shows a lot of fruity esters, banana, clove and fruits. Yeasty as hell and the hops are quite spicy in their lingering bite. Sugary. Good stuff. Ernest (4500), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2004 Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, mold), with a light note of clove, light note of banana. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Decent for an American rendition...not too sweet, and more phenolic than estery. Dextolen (151), Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 20, 2004 Bottle. Poured a medium amber, hazy, with a smaller head. Fruity, banana, caramel aroma. Full mouthfeel with smooth and hot aftertones (thanks to the alcohol). Malty sweet flavor with some orange. Nice warming effect, would be great after some time outside in the cold.
