Commercial Description:
This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

Well first off I am a fan of Stouts and had sampled several Stouts beforehand so this was a shock to senses. With that said, it poured with an average white head and the aroma was extravagant. Sweet compare to what I am used to and was very refreshing. The look was nice. I overall recommend this for everyone to try. The first time I tried this was at a local beerfest so I had to try it gain. Overall impressed.

On tap at Dragonmead. Pours a cloudy golden brown with small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and bread/biscuit? Flavor is sweet with a wheat taste. Very easy to drink and very enjoyable.

Bottle - Pours hazy orange with a small, frothy head. The aroma is wonderful -- spices, orange, dough. The tase doesn’t measure up, however. It starts out yeasty, then the taste disappears until the spice blast and alcohol hit. There’s a nice citrus finish, but the whole thing feels a little off. Feels great in the mouth--heavier than I expected. The rare beer that I enjoyed smelling more than tasting.

A very well done tripel, growler from Dragonmead itself. Aroma was huge. Strong yeast and light pine/fruit with bit of honey. Pour was a cloudy hazy gold, white head and a hint of sediment floating around. Taste was great. Strong apple, pear and fruit cocktail with a yeasty acidic aftertaste. Nice carbonation and pretty easy to drink for 10%.

Pours clear, pale gold, with a cola-like fizzling head. Retention is nill, and the spritzy head fell instantly leaving behind no lacework or foam otherwise. Aromatics are a pleasant blend of honey-drizzled malt, phenols, and light spice. Clovey, peppery, and slightly sweet. Light to medium bodied, crisp and lightly tacky. Light malt, honey, and light spice start the pallet. Hints of white pepper, cloves, and warming alcohol follow through. The carbonation level is quite low for a Triple. Finishes with mild residuals and warming spice. Pretty average in flavor and aroma for an American interpretation, but quite sub-par with the carbonation level and poor appearance.

12oz bottle. Thanks Gurst! Pours a hazy pale amber with a thin white head and lots of effervescence. Aroma is light, with yeast, grain, and spices alongside hoppy notes of banana and citrus. Taste is full and dry, with an initial flavor of spices and grains giving way to a stronger hoppy and citrusy finish. The aftertaste has a bit of a metallic/alcohol twinge, but not too bad for 10% ABV. Not my favorite tripel, but an interesting take on the style.

Poured a hazy copper color with lots of action in the glass. Needless to say, very inviting. The aroma is quite striking with banana’s and something citrus that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. The flavor was not surprisingly, heavy on the alcohol but, unfortunately, not much else. Finish as well lacked for something to make this beer memorable. A nice beer for sure, but not overly complex.

Bottle.Poured a murky golden-orange with loads of sediment, one finger head of tiny white bubbles, looks initially to be well carbonated. The aroma has an agreeable yeasty quality that gives off sents of banana, spice, and clove. Actually a little spicy (pepper, maybe ginger too). Soft notes of citrus. Quite pleasant once it warms,at first I thought it may just taste like Heff by the aroma witch im not really a fan of. Mouthfeel is quite smooth and only mildly drying on the finish. Slightly grainy at times. A pleasing aftertaste that lingers. The taste is of dried citrus peel and banana, clove, coriander, pepper and other like spices. A little grain, and sweet malts. This brew is way better at almost room temp .
