The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hops with a biscuity vapour. The taste is twangy and bitter, nicely balanced with the malt, Slightly hop spiced towards the finish. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing. Not too shabby, would like to see on a hand pull real ale. Sammy (4056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2003 Pours the usual, amber with some lighter golden hues, and a small head. Smells only mildly hoppy, not much else. Starts out slightly hoppy with a twang of bitterness, but some very sweet malt, maybe too sweet for this style, comes in to play. Body holds up though, decent medium body and ends on a slightly bitter note. As it warms, there is a true hops flavor comes through, with a soft creamy texture. Good, but fairly laid back. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2006 12-oz bottle. Pours a beautiful semi-translucent brown with a thin white head. Virtually nothing on the nose, but there’s a rich medium-bodied creaminess on the tongue, and there’s tons of sweet malt under a gentle hop layer. The finish is clean and even a little sweet. It’s a very mild-mannered IPA...really more of a pale ale or maybe an amber, but delicious no matter what they call it. Pailhead (2609), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2004 On tap: Light hop aroma. Transparent amber with a white head. Not much initial taste but great hop finish. Not very impressed with Dragonmead’s IPA’s. Just not enough taste up front to rate higher. Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2007 On tap at Reno’s West, Lansing. Pretty standard offering, similar to several of Dragonmead’s other hoppy beers, but with less malt emphasis, instead focusing on the grassy, medicinal hops. Light-bodied and smooth.
