Commercial Description:
A light colored version of the Alt Beer. This beer uses an ale type yeast at lager-like temperatures. What results is a smooth, almost fruity beer that is pleasing to the palate. A small amount of Wheat malt is used to give extra body to this otherwise "light" beer. Hallertau hops balance the malt but impart no hop aroma. O.G. 1.048

On draft at the brewery. Hazy yellow colow with just about zero head. Corny aroma with other veggies evident too. There was a brief sweet sugar taste, but the corn took over soon after that. Not really to my liking at all.

Draft. Very pale yellow color. Damn near clear. Minimal head. Aroma is fruitish, apples are brought to mind. Very light beer. Would make a session brew.

I don't like Kolsch beers or lite beers in particular, and this one was not able to break me out of my trend. It was better than most though.

Nice clear yellow color with a resaonable head and some lacing. Enticing aroma. Wow! Very nice with a refreshing fruity/cherry type aftertaste.

This beer just screams "summer". Pours out to a bright color resembling a light orange mixed with some yellow highlights. Nose is that of fresh grains and spices. Taste shows signs of clove and banana. All in all, a very refreshing beer. This could be a great session beer on a warm day.

Decided to follow in Oakes' footsteps and sample this as my first brew at the 2003 Great Taste of the Midwest last weekend. Cloudy yellow in appearance; good carbonation. Huge head. Basic lager aroma. Not served very cold. Good lace. Somewhat complex in flavor, but nothing overly special.

At MBG Summer fest; Copper hue with small fizzy head. Apple, lemon, wheat, and some minor spice on the nose. Tangy and crisp, light-bodied, refreshing, good summer session beer.
