Commercial Description:
Another fine example of the English style. This Bitter is more robust than the best bitter but still with an excellent balance between hops and malt. Pale Ale Malt along with Aromatic and Crystal malts combine with the Galena and Fuggles hops to create a sure-fire favorite.

Pours a clear nut brown with thin tan head that dissipates quickly to a ring around the glass and leaves light lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, lots of spices, slight sweetness, caramel, bread, and a bitterness that I can’t place very well. Flavor matches well and stays true to style very well. Body is medium and dry. Leaves a nice bitterness in the mouth after, but a couple points knocked off for a slight metallic aftertaste also. Very refreshing though.

Bottle: Poured a murky brown with a huge thick off white head. Aroma is sweet with malt. Taste was not very ESB like, more malty and chocolate. I enjoyed this eitherway.

12oz bottle thanks to Kevin for bringing these back from Michigan. Pours a clear light brown. Small white head. Very similar to the hemp ale in flavor. Deep bread notes, doughy and yeasty with a slight bit of citrus form the hops. Nice body for a beer under 5% with a slightly spicy quality and big giant bread notes all throughout. Finishes with light bitterness and a bit of caramel. The choice of Galena hops is inspired and really gives a neat bit of hop dimension to this solidly made ESB. Well done.

Bottle… Clear golden ale with minimal head. The aroma is pleasantly grainy, but otherwise nondescript. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Leans a touch toward the bitter side of balance with medium-roast grains and a nice, flavorful hop profile. Finishes fairly crisp and moderately bitter. Thanks to daknole for sharing!

Holy shit an ESB that I actually like! Brown pour. Tons of malt and light hops. Flavor is malty and sweet with some bready/cracker notes and a bit of hop bitterness. easy and smooth.

Pours dark brown, almost black, with a huge off white head. Aroma of kind of spicey, sour, sweet malt aroma. Flavor is malty, lots of toffee and caramel, with some infected plastic notes. A bit chewy, maybe some chocolate notes. Very bubbly homebrew-esque texture and mouthfeel. Seems like theres some potential here but maybe a bottling issue?

Bottle from Siciliano’s, Grand Rapids, MI. Dark red brown color wtih medium, creamu beige head. Aroma is dry biscuit malt with subtle breadiness. Flavor is dried fruit, biscuit, floral hops, somewhat caramel and dry. There is a strange balance between a medium body but feeling very heavy in the mouth at the same time, creamy and active carbonation. In style and refreshing.

Very bland ESB. This seemed like a lite malt bomb - a malt bombette if you will. Pours amberish red. Not much head. Will try when it warms. Perhaps different. Nope - just becomes more of a sugarbomb. Bleh.
