Jul 12, 2007 Sample from 1-liter swingtop bottle, RBSG Minneapolis Grand Tasting, June 23 2007. Dark, hazy to opaque brown with no real head formation....somewhat pungent, strongly hoppy aroma with dried fruits and a bit of grape-caramel syrupiness....the body too is syrupy, quite sweet, lots of alcohol noted, sugary gingerbread cookies with caramel glazing and vanilla, very light hops do keep it from going off the deep end....light carbonation. Ehhh, ok I suppose.

Jul 12, 2007 Bottle… RBSG 07 … Hazy, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Caramel and dark fruit aroma with undertones of cinnamon and brown sugar. Malty-sweet flavor provides gobs of cookie dough along with those lesser notes of caramel and brown sugar. Sufficient bitterness. Full-bodied and syrupy with restrained carbonation. Sweet, malty, rich finish.

Jul 11, 2007 Syrup, brandy nose. Deep auburn color, no head. Heavy, sweet sugary malt, fruity notes. Syrup coats the lips after the swallow. Dainty bitter finish. Good sipping beer, but too sweet maybe.

Jul 8, 2007 Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting room, compliments of CaptainCougar, pours a dark brown mahogany color brew with a thick lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet cherry licorice, roasted caramel malt and some hazelnut. Taste is smooth, full bodied with flavors of vanilla, cherry and aged oak. Alcohol is heavy with this brew. Finish is sweet and thick. Almost could pass for a Quadruple style brew.

Jul 3, 2007 A good lager. Sweet malt in the aroma and flavor. Some fruit, spiced heated apples and grapes. Brown color. I’m not so sure it is can be aged. Dark amber color.

Jul 1, 2007 (RBSG07, 1L bottle) Lightly hazed copper body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, chocolate, caramel, grapefruit, boozy. Alcohol burn in the swallow. Sticky medium-full body.

Jun 30, 2007 RBSG 2007: Bottle thanks to CaptainCougar: Poured copper with a light tan head. Aroma, caramel and some yeasty notes, some fruits. Flavor, pale bready malts, some caramel and yeast, raisins. Pretty good.

Jun 30, 2007 RBSG07. From 34 oz bottle. Pours muddy amberwith a light brown head. Aroma is malty/raisin sweet. Flavour is strong malty and raisins. Not overly sweet. Finish is sweet and strong.
