Commercial Description:
We think you will enjoy this beer. For our 15th Anniversary beer we decided to throw the "style guideline" books out the window and create our own style. We set out to create something that would be strong enough and complex enough to age for all future anniversaries. We think we have accomplished that with this brew. We infused the finest ingredients available to us with our relentless passion for brewing good beer and topped it off with a little bit of creativity. We combined 2-row malt with Munich malt, Caramel malt and a touch of Chocolate malt for color. From there we added Noble hops imported from Germany to give the beer its bitterness and hop aroma. We then fermented it with a Lager yeast strain at 50*F for five weeks. After that it was allowed to lager for another four months to round out the flavors. What we ended up with is a beer that weighs in at a hefty 11% ABV with 25 IBU's and a nice ruby amber color."

RBSG 2007. Pours to a reddish-chestnut colored body with a creamy dense light tan head. The aroma is sort of soapy with some basic pale malts. Biscuits and bread. The flavor is caramel, nougat, sweet barley, nice hops, strawberry seeds, bitter hops. Rich sweet moderately full bodied. Syrupy. A great strong lager.

RBSG 2007. Murky copper color with no head. Sugary aroma and taste. Monster hop finish, mostly citrus but a lot of just pure hop bitterness.

Bottle: Deep burnt caramel, basically brown with some red hues, supa-large light beige head, fairly nice lacing, small chunks of sediment float about.   Rich malty nose, some biscuit, brown sugar, molasses, honey, citrus zest, and even a bit barnish.   Thick malty backbone, caramel like malts, citrus peel, slightly viscous, with a soft bitterness on the backend.   Alcohol is slightly noticeable, but moreso in its warming rather than the tongue biting pain that you can get with an 11% brew. &bnsp Full to moderate body and mouthfeel.   Fairly clean finish, warming, VERY warming, with lingering cocoa infused citrus rind.   Very interesting Lager, but one that I wouldn’t hesitate to have again!

1L bottle of my favorite style from BeerGuy101! A huge thanks Mitch!!! Nose of caramel malt, some yeast, and a dark fruit note; Slighty hazy rust color with a medium beige head; Taste heavy with caramel malt, some lagerish grainy notes, and light raisiny accents; nice syrupy body and light alcohol finish. Too bad I’ll probably never get another bottle!!!

Bottle: Bourbon color, nice head and lacing. Nose of sherry and light wood, hops and sweet caramel malt. The flavor is rich and sweet and nutty with caramel. The finish is chewy, nice plum and prune for the malty notes. Finishes strong with the alcohol. Yum.

Didn’t think this smelt too great, very malty. Taste has some nice hops and some very present alcohol. A nice anniversary beer. I like.
