Commercial Description:
We think you will enjoy this beer. For our 15th Anniversary beer we decided to throw the "style guideline" books out the window and create our own style. We set out to create something that would be strong enough and complex enough to age for all future anniversaries. We think we have accomplished that with this brew. We infused the finest ingredients available to us with our relentless passion for brewing good beer and topped it off with a little bit of creativity. We combined 2-row malt with Munich malt, Caramel malt and a touch of Chocolate malt for color. From there we added Noble hops imported from Germany to give the beer its bitterness and hop aroma. We then fermented it with a Lager yeast strain at 50*F for five weeks. After that it was allowed to lager for another four months to round out the flavors. What we ended up with is a beer that weighs in at a hefty 11% ABV with 25 IBU's and a nice ruby amber color."

On tap @ the San Diego Strong Ale Fest Day 2. Poured a dark, hazy mahogany color with a small off white head. Sweet malts. Caramel and somewhat a little earthy. Not bad but didn’t really stand out against the other beers I’ve been drinking at the fest (of course everything is relative when surrounded by so many 4+ rated beers!). 7 3 7 4 14 Rerate from 1 liter body. Increased the numbers...

Muddy caramel pour, white head quickly leaving. Strongly bready munichs will hint at old bread box, grassy water plants, rubber, apple skin and ethanol before it’s over. It makes for a chaotic complexity, very demanding to get over the alcohol. Very sweet in mouth obviously, has the time to become overly so before the sworned over hops have their effect. Medium body, strong and sloppy mouthfeel with a developping underneath papery oxidation despite the assumingly young age. Ehhmm, not my style at all.

Bottle… RBSG 07 … Hazy, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Caramel and dark fruit aroma with undertones of cinnamon and brown sugar. Malty-sweet flavor provides gobs of cookie dough along with those lesser notes of caramel and brown sugar. Sufficient bitterness. Full-bodied and syrupy with restrained carbonation. Sweet, malty, rich finish.

Hazy copper ruby color with a frothy light-tan head. Fresh fruity hoppiness in the aroma has some enticing sweet caramel. Body starts sweet with some gritty caramel maltiness and a nice bittering hoppy balance toward a warming, alcoholic finish. Apart from the fact that it could hide the alcohol better, a nice beer that should age well.
