Bottle. Nice aroma of apple, wooden barrel, and light alcohol. Poured a clear dark orange-brown color with a fizzy off white head. Medium to full bodied. Drier and fruitier than the Drake’s brandy and bourbon barrel aged barley wines with slightly greater carbonation. I tasted distinct apple, brandy, and a hint of root beer. Yum.

Bottle in trade from Ibrew2or3. Thanks!
Pours a maroonish brown color and is opaque with a big beige head. Smell is aged maltiness, apple fruitiness and earthy oak. Taste is very oaky and with mild, smooth maltienss. Lightly flavored otherwise, though. Quite dry and pleasant with a rich body and light bubbly carbonation. Very light alcohol flavor. Enjoyable.

Pours a dark ruddy brown with a thin, cream colored halo of a head. The nose is quite nice, with a smooth brandy influence added to the whay resembles a bit of a sour ale with some tart cherries? The flavor is the same, with the strongest influence being the brandy. Not in a bad way, though. It’s quite smooth and easy drinking. Smooth on the palate followed by a dry, tannic, woody clean finish.

Bottle (6oz nip). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with Irishboy. Cloudy deep orange pour, average head. Boozy apple cider aroma, quite sweet and malty. The taste is boozy and very, very sour - almost sour ale-like, apple cores and vodka in the finish. Lightly acidic and more than a bit oxidized .... strong, a bit past its prime, and probably never really had a big enough malt profile to carry the aging required to mellow this.

Stud tasting 1.0 held at general_gaos. Thanks for putting up with us colin! Hazy amber pour with snappy carbonation and an off white head. Strong apple and tanic aroma. Flavor was apples, caramel, chocolate, rye, cheese, foot. Finishes with a slight burn, high carbonation but not explosive in the mouth.

WOW, pours a dark red/brown color with a large off white head. Aroma is of oak, and alcohol. Flavor is of almost all alcohol and a strange flavor a couldnt put my finger on. Blah.

[Freakin Frog] Poured a lightly hazy, reddish mahogany color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of apples, vanilla, caramel, light brett, and dried fruits. Taste of caramel, vanilla, some dark fruits, nuts, and light alcohol with a dry finish.

Bottle from Monument @ Concord. This is starting to turn - but for some reason at this point it still works. Aroma was brett and apples. At this point it’s like a sour light. Flavor is mellow, and you can’t taste any of the alcohol. Flavor is apples, wood, sea foam, and a little maple flavor. Not bad after 3 years.
