Very, very good but not great. Thanks Chris. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Pours dark red-brown with no head and decent lacing. Flavor is caramel apple, oak and tobacco. Palate is chewy and sticky. For 14.7%, the alcohol is very well hidden. This is a great brew that goes down way too easy. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Another awesome beer that my sister saved for me!! I had this after a BA Wee Heavy, and couldnt believe that this had so much flavor than the former. Muddy brown color with a small light brow head. The aroma is interesting, it smells very metallic and almost like flower pollen. It also has hints of wildflower honey (maybe thats where the pollen smell is coming from?) Mouthfeel was so smooth and thick and delicious, quite enjoyable. Tastes of fruits (clementines or sweet oranges), brandy, malts, alcohol, wood, wow this is complex and strong! Really nice barleywine. Would be interesting to try next to a Kuh nhenn brandy barleywine. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2007 6oz bottle, courtesy of tever. Thanks, Tom!! Pours a murky medium brown with yellow edges; minimal head formation. Sweet maple syrup maltiness and brown sugar coming through in the nose; warm alcohol and dried dark fruits and hints of a brandy / bourbon note. Full, viscous mouthfeel: plenty of raisins and dried fruits and brown sugar at the forefront - focused, malty barleywine center, with a hint of sour-mash tartness; warming alcohol presence and a light toasty woodiness; well-integrated and very tasty. Full, dried fruit and chewy wet-malt finish. oh6gdx (9102), Vasa, Finland

Alcohol, raisins, oak barrel and some vanilla in aroma. Flavour is raisins, malts, alcohol, spices and some slight notes of vanilla. All in a wellmixed balance. Burningly warming, still very pleasantly done.
