Commercial Description:
This was the 1500 batch of beer produced since opening the doors of the brewery in 1989. It turned out everyone liked it so much we make it all the time now. It is a Pale Ale that is late hopped like an Imperial IPA for an "over the top" hop aroma.

12oz bottle, purchased at Ledgers. Pours a murky orange-auburn color; very light tan head with great retention and significant lacing; creamy; great pour. Juicy tangerine notes and orange hoppiness in the aroma; balanced, reasonably fresh; a touch relaxed, but really nice tangerine character here; approximates Tang powder? Crisp bitterness in a medium mouthfeel: lots of juicy oranges, light earthiness, minimal astringency; a very generous pale ale / solid IPA; really enjoy the hop profile on this, and the malt sugars play a balancing role here without being anything more than that; juicy, nicely acidic and bitter. Medium finish: bitter oranges, biscuity malts, nicely lasting bitterness; dry side.

(Draught) Pours a clear amber-yellow body with a small off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, wood, caramel, grass, herbs, and some peach. Flavor of hops (earthy, grass, citrus) and caramel malt with moderate bitterness in the finish.

Draft. Hazy and light orange with a crisp aroma that features the hops inside. The dry-hopped flavors and aromas are good and pure, for lack of a better term. Still, this juicy grapefruit/plum/apricot jewel is drinkable, and it disappeared from my glass at an alarming rate.

Definitely hoppy aromatics, juicy grapefruit with some bready foundation underneath. Clear copper and a strong white head. Strong doughy base, flowery bitter finish. Hops seem to jump out and shine. Never astringent. Good times.

Pours a light golden amber/orange color with a massive 3 finger bubbly frothy head and lots of visible carbonation bubbles rising to the top of the glass. The carbonation makes it look almost soda like. Frothy pillowy head has great retention with large chunks of soapy lacing coating the glass. Sweet light crisp fruit aroma with hints of apple and pear. There is also an earthy pilsner malt presence that balances out the citrus hop notes. Slight hint of alcohol as well. Very fizzy overcarbonated mouthfeel. Very earthy piney dry finish. None of the light fruit and citrus notes from the aroma are evident at all. Caramel malt backbone is minimal not providing enough of a balance to the aggressively hoopy bite. The mouthful and taste make it seem kind of oxidized but it’s not quite that bad. I would like to try another bottle and revisit.

On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Fresh and somewhat peachy aroma hops in the nose. Medium body with light caramels but not much of a malty feel. The finish is dry and quite hoppy. Nice one. 110709

Draught. Pours hazy orange with a large, creamy white head, lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is average malt (cereal, meal), heavy hop (flowers, citrus, pine), average yeast (sweat) with notes of pear, pineapple, and apricot. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
