Leaves thick, creamy lacework on the glass. Earthy, citrusy, piney nose with an undertone of biscuit. Medium-bodied with an acerbic mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor is of biscuit malt buried under a ton of tannic, earthy hop intensity. Lengthy, bitter, arid finish. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2008 Bottle from Hi-Time in Costa Mesa, CA. Shared bottle with Timfoolery. I gave him his glass and didn’t tell him the style. Just from the smell, citrus hops, he guessed IPA. Definately bitter beer with a little bit of malt. Pretty good brew!! golubj (1300), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with white head. Aroma is tropical fruit; mango, and some citrus and a little pine. Flavor is the same; sweet but slightly oily and vegetal, but I think that is from a mixture of the pine and tropical hop flavors. Medium amount of bitterness. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2008 Poured on tap at Marin Brew Breast Fest a light amber with a medium sized white head. Aroma is overly floral hoppy with a little vegetale greeness. The flavor comes in with a burst of sweet caramel at the get go then dominated by floral citrus hops (on the orangy side instead of gratefruit). The flavor drops out abruptly at the end with very little bitter and not much lingering. A good beer overall. grant (792), Colorado Springs, CO, Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Nice sunset color, light head. Wonderful hoppy aroma with grapefruit, buds, light roast and doughy malts. The malt profile is very reminiscent of the IPA but the hops are very different. Nice balanced malt flavor, toeing the dry/sweet line well, with plenty of toasty malts evident. I might have a new go-to beer here. Fantastic. bhensonb (4384), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Bottle from Marcus - really appreciated. Amber color with a smallish off-white head. Aroma is fruit and floral. Amazing. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is fruit and floral hop over mildly roasted malt. Finish is malt and hop. Balanced. Really drinkable. Just excellent. Great aroma, actually reminds me of Dreadnaught. Grapefruit, citrus, pine, and loads of sweet tropical fruit. Almost gave the aroma a 9, I was really surprised. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness, quite drinkable. I’m buying more of this.
