Commercial Description:
This was the 1500 batch of beer produced since opening the doors of the brewery in 1989. It turned out everyone liked it so much we make it all the time now. It is a Pale Ale that is late hopped like an Imperial IPA for an "over the top" hop aroma.

4 ounce sample on tap at the Raley Field Brewfest. Wonderful aromatic hempy, catty hoppy simcoe nose. Some orange citrus notes are present. Me oh my, I do like myself some simcoe. Wonderfully quaffable. Transparent orange body with an off-white head. Starts with an onslaught of simcoe hops. Catty, hempy goodness. Becomes sticky and chewy with perhaps some caramel in the body. Finishes with more hops with some moderate spiciness followed by more catty flavors late. One dimensional, but that dimension is damn fine.

Cloudy bronze with adequate head. Quite floral aroma and a floral flavor profile. Mild bitterness.

I’m basically a one-dimensional drinker recently: IPAs all the time. But my buddy convinced me to order this last night (on tap: Toronado, SF). I must say it like it better than my go-to pale ale, Sierra Nevada, although perhaps it tastes it bit like an IPA to me. Would love to compare it side-by-side at home though.

On tap @ Drakes poured a lightly hazy copper with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of citrus, pine and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and slightly dry. Flavors of pine, grapefruit, light carmel and a hint of earthiness with a lingering bitter finish.

Bottle courtesy of nolankowal. Pours copper with a rocky white head. Smells soapy with citrus, pine resin and some malt. Tastes slightly bitter with some grapes, oranges, nuts and lots of malt and an earthy finish.
