Hops really show in the nose, great floral and piney aroma with some sweet malty notes as well. Flavor was very crisp and smooth. Hops dominate the flavor with some maltiness in the background. Medium bodied with a good lingering mouth feel. One of my fav APA’s! wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2006 12 oz bottle, Hennepin glass, Noogfest. Deep hazy golden hue with a moderate creamy white head. One of the better looking APAs I’ve yet seen. The aroma is equally impressive with strong and extremely fresh notes of flowers, honey, light caramel, grapefruit and whole grain bread. Flavor isn’t quite as intense with some decent caramel to start and very light floral and citric hops throughout. Average mouthfeel; medium bodied, watery texture, average carbonation. One of those ’anti-climactic’ beers in my book. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2006 A hazy light amber beer. A decent hops aroma with just a slightly oily and watery texture all at the same time. A good hops and light malt flavor. A good beer. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2006 Poured a lightly hazed copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma starts nicely with big grapefruit flesh notes and balanced malt underneath. the flavor is the opposite. It starts with malt and then brings in the grapefruit flesh. the finish is lightly bitter. Decent pale ale. Suttree (2734), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2006 Copper, no head. Piney earthy aroma, and a piney, earthy flavor, too. My notes make reference to pine and earth quite a bit in this review. I swear, I need to bring a thesaurus to these gatherings. Sampled at Noogfest2 smcd (366), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 26, 2006 Updated: Apr 2, 2006Clear, amber with white head. Big hop-forward aromas with some fruity malty-sweet notes coming through. Medium-light body with hints of crystal malts but predominantly tasting of big, bitter hops. A deliciously drinkable Pale Ale that would have been considered an IPA just a few years ago. This brew varies, but each batch is delicious. Oakes (8101), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2006 Slightly hazy amber. Massive hop aroma is very much bursting with fruity notes. The body is pretty light for style, as is the maltiness, leaving this an ode to hops, which again take on a fairly fruity character, but lack the bold, bright quality I enjoyed so much in the aroma.
