A good refreshing brew that should be rated slightly higher. nolankowal (851), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2006 Bottle courtesy of beerguy101, thanks again Mitch! Pours a hazy yellow with a bone white head that all but dissapears after a minute or so. Spicy, bready aroma...good amount of yeast...some pepper, lemon zest, and clove. The flavor has some candied fruit, more lemon zest and pepper and a spice I can’t put my finger on. Light body over the tounge, though the flavors stick throughout...it never gets thin. The carbonation is nice, present but not overbearing...I could go with a bit more actually. The finish is earthy and dry..a great light offering. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2006 Thanks to Milo2 for this: Pours a deep filtered bubbly golden with a pillowy white head. Aroma is bready-sweet malts, no hops and a touch of yeast fruitiness but it is restrained. The body is med.-light, somewhat sweet for the style with a lot of CO2. The flavor is again, bready malts and lots of it. If this is US 2-row then I am VERY impressed. A nice touch of honey in the flavor. Finish is not as crisp as I might like and could use a touch more in the way of bitterness, but this is damn fine. One I could drink a lot of. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Pours a golden color with a half in of foam. Has a wheaty-earthy flavor almost barnyard-like but this went down very easy and was quite a nice early eveing brew. marcus (1869), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2006 On tap at Drake’s. This yellow ale poured with almost no head. The flavor is sweet and light with a smooth finish. Quite refreshing and satisfying. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 23, 2006 Not a bad brew at all, the Drakes Blonde pours a light yellow color with a good head. I’m not a big fan of this style, but this brew was easier to drink than any other I’ve had in this category. The flavor doesn’t overpower, which is nice for this type of brew. The taste is some grassy flavors with a hint of citrus and a very slight spice finish. The mouthfeel is nice, maybe a bit too thin though. Drakes continues to impress me. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2006 Bottled. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with redness around the edges. Sweet slightly fruity aroma. Hints of apricot. Bitter caramel maltiness up front with a hint of sweet. Pretty full bodied. Saarlander (1579), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 23, 2006 Quite on the sweet side, with citrus notes, and abit of grassiness. Not really a fan of kolsch, but this is a nice example, flavorful for the style. Decent brew. On Tap at Hollingshead.
