jimbowood (751), Athens, Georgia, USA Jun 22, 2008 bottle from rodger. Still as its straight from the barrel. Very vinous and winelike. Sour undertones. Nice.
beerguy101 (3547), Newark, California, USA Nov 29, 2008 Tasted on tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Festival on 11/15/2008. This sour ale poured a medium brown color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and soft, fruity and bretty. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Touch of funk, horse blanket and must. The funk is kind of subdued but adds a nice presence to an amber ale. Not as funky as I thought it might be but it works. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly funky. AgentSteve (929), SF Bay Area, California, USA Nov 27, 2008 Updated: Dec 4, 2008A favorites from the Bistro Barrel Fest, pours beautiful reddish brown with no head. The nose is Brett funk, sweet malt and caramel. The flavor is the same, with the Brett standing out and a sweetness following. Lively on the palate and a great oak finish. bb (2236), Martinez, California, USA Jul 18, 2008 Draft. Rich amber beer with a big cream colored head. Malty, yeasty, tart aroma. Tart, malty, yeasty, lemony fruit flavors. Medium body. Tart, malty, fruity (lemon & stone fruit) lingers. marcus (1119), Sacramento, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 On tap at Toronado. This dark amber ale poured with a thin beige head and a sour aroma. The sweet caramel malt base is overwhelmed by the brett-induced sour fruit flavor. However, the result is very pleasing to the palate.
