The beer poured a blackish color w/ reddish hues, thick lasting head (on nitro) and lacing. The aroma was roasty and coffee w/ a slight hint of chocolate. The flavor was full of roast and coffee with chocolate and a slight citrus/hop note. The mouthfeel was creamy and full, well-rounded and milky.

Nitro paints a nitro appearance and of course, at least when appearances are concerned, you cannot really complain...although, i must say that it was extra jiggly..seeming to be a little watery if I do say so my damn self. The head was reminscent of chocolate skim milk..the aroma, roasty with defined chocolate and coffee notes. Nitro-flat mouthfeel with chocolate milk flavors and roasty-ness. More dry than sweet, really..in fact, not much sweetness at all and adequately hopped which brings the bitterness out strong in the end. Its ok, but I certainly won’t be ordering it again.

(Nitro draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) Chocolate milk? Yeah, I guess, a little, but it’s certainly not Yoohoo! The nose is quite dry, roasty and chocolaty, less sweet than I was expecting. Moderate chocolate up front is in nice sync with the roastiness. Roast is most prevalent in the long-lasting and fairly bitter finish. The flavor is sweeter than the nose indicates, but still fairly mild compared to the other flavors. It has a rich, creamy, sikly palate, but body is only medium to me. The color is almost totally black, but with dark, ruddy edges. Lots of subsurface bubbles cling to the glass. A large, dense head is tan color of coffee ice cream, and a thick, dense blanket of head (too bulky to be called lace) lines the glass. I enjoyed this one enough to order a second! I’d have a third, but Drake’s Denogginizer is also on tap, so I can’t resist its call any longer.

Poursa deep black hue with a small, tan head. Aromas of milk, chocolate, coffee. Mouthfeel is lightbodied with a good coffee flavor.

Sample @ Ob’rien’s: Pours with a black body topped by a thin head with som lacing. The aroma and flavor are sweet and malty with a roasty note and chocolate and cream notes. Full bodied, smooth and a touch dry.
