Hand bottled courtesy of RD. Head dissipates really quickly. Smells like a Hershey bar. Bitter chocolate finish w/ milky chocolate body. A nice session stout w/ tons of flavor and body.

Draft. One of my all time favs from Drakes (and my wife’s all-time favorite beer). It sucks they’ll never make this again (from what I hear). Pours almost pitch black with an ivory head. Chocolate aromas with coffee notes. Somewhat heavy on the palate with chocolate, coffee, toffee and caramel notes. I’ll really miss this beer!

Mix the chocolate milk stout and the espresso stout for a mocha stout? ;) A bit sweeter than their other stouts, and creamy, this has definite hints of chocolate and coffee. Black. Full-bodied and almost chewy. Deliciously smooth on Nitro.

Courtesy SoLan by way of aspidites. Pours dark brown/black with a monster, foamy light brown head. Good doses of chocolate syrup, with some dark fruit, and a little tartness in there as well. The flavor was very creamy, lots of chocolate cream and vanilla mixed together. A little tartness in the finish which might be a sign of age, but I think this has held up quite nicely. Very creamy nd smooth going down, with some nice flavor in there. A nice little treat.

Courtesy SoLan via aspidites. Dark, almost black color, creamy dark tan head. Nutty roast and dark chocolate aroma, light lactose notes. Creamy texture, nutty front end, more chocolately on the back end. Very nice. Smooth chocolate.

(Nitro draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) Chocolate milk? Yeah, I guess, a little, but it’s certainly not Yoohoo! The nose is quite dry, roasty and chocolaty, less sweet than I was expecting. Moderate chocolate up front is in nice sync with the roastiness. Roast is most prevalent in the long-lasting and fairly bitter finish. The flavor is sweeter than the nose indicates, but still fairly mild compared to the other flavors. It has a rich, creamy, sikly palate, but body is only medium to me. The color is almost totally black, but with dark, ruddy edges. Lots of subsurface bubbles cling to the glass. A large, dense head is tan color of coffee ice cream, and a thick, dense blanket of head (too bulky to be called lace) lines the glass. I enjoyed this one enough to order a second! I’d have a third, but Drake’s Denogginizer is also on tap, so I can’t resist its call any longer.

Sample @ Ob’rien’s: Pours with a black body topped by a thin head with som lacing. The aroma and flavor are sweet and malty with a roasty note and chocolate and cream notes. Full bodied, smooth and a touch dry.

On tap at brewery. Pours a deep black color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee and slightly sweet. A medium bodied sweet stout. Malts are roasty, chocolate and coffee. Touch of vanilla. This stout is mostly roasty malts and semi sweet chocolate flavors. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
